01Executive summary

Exness is a Cypriot broker founded in 2008 that grew on a rare combination of competitive spreads with automated withdrawals — the second is the real differentiator, because it is where most foreign brokers fail. For the trader running a bot, Exness is, in my assessment, the best-balanced option on the market in 2026. For the beginner who gets excited about high leverage, it is a trap that deserves double the caution.

02Regulation and safety

Exness operates under multiple regulated entities. Among the main licenses: CySEC (Cyprus), FCA (United Kingdom), FSCA (South Africa), FSA (Seychelles), FSC (Mauritius and the British Virgin Islands), plus other smaller ones. Client funds are held segregated at top-tier banks.

The point to understand: no Forex broker is regulated directly by the CVM in Brazil. That is the industry rule, not an Exness quirk — Forex is legal in Brazil, but it runs through foreign regulators. The Exness-specific detail is that, to access maximum leverage (1:2000+), you register under the offshore entity (Seychelles), where protection is weaker than under CySEC/FCA. An experienced trader knows how to pick the entity that fits their profile. A beginner almost never pays attention to this — and should.

03Platforms and bot support

Exness offers MT4, MT5 and the Exness Terminal (its own web platform). If you code in MQL5 or use ready-made Expert Advisors, Exness's MT5 works with no unusual restrictions — it allows scalping, HFT and bots, which is far from universal: several brokers end up restricting these practices. Execution runs at around 25ms on most servers, enough for the majority of automated strategies (pure HFT needs separate optimization, with a VPS in the server's region).

The absence you feel is native TradingView integration. If you use Pine Script and want to send orders straight from the chart, you will need a webhook + bridge (or move to MT5).

04Account types

Exness has the widest catalog in the industry — nine types in total. The ones that matter for most people:

Standard Cent

No minimum deposit. Contracts are in cents — you trade 1 lot equivalent to 1,000 units (instead of the standard 100,000). It is the perfect account for testing a bot with real money without risking significant capital.

Standard

US$ 10 minimum deposit. Wider floating spreads, no commission. Good to start with.

Raw Spread / Zero

Spreads from 0.0 pip, with a commission per lot. Best for scalping and high-frequency bots, where every tenth of a pip matters.

Pro

US$ 500 minimum deposit, market execution, no commission, average spreads. For volume.

05Leverage — the critical point

Serious warning: 1:2000 leverage is not a "benefit". It is the mechanism that wipes out beginner accounts fastest. It means US$ 50 of margin controls US$ 100,000 — a 0.05% move against you and the position evaporates.

Exness uses this as a marketing differentiator, and technically it is true — they offer among the highest levels on the market. For an experienced trader who understands position sizing, it is a tool. For someone starting out, it is the shortest path between depositing and zeroing the account. Use the Cent account or set leverage to something reasonable (1:50, 1:100) until you have risk management down.

06Spreads and real costs

Exness's spreads are competitive. On the Raw Spread account, EUR/USD starts at 0.0 pip with a commission of roughly US$ 7 per lot round turn — in line with the elite (IC Markets, Pepperstone). On the Standard account, the average spread sits around 0.7-1.0 pip with no commission, which is reasonable.

Invisible costs that weigh more than they look: overnight swap (hold a trade open and you pay or receive interest), currency conversion (a BRL deposit converted into the account currency — around 2%), and wider spreads during low-liquidity hours. Factor that into your backtest.

07Where Exness stands out: withdrawals

This is the reason for the high score. Exness processes most withdrawals automatically, in seconds, including on weekends. For anyone who has traded with foreign brokers before, that sounds like an exaggeration — but it is real and it is what stands out most in practice. The number one complaint from people trading offshore is exactly the stuck withdrawal, and Exness solved it through engineering: the system validates the limits and releases the money without manual approval.

Common methods: Pix, Brazil's instant payment system (instant), international bank transfer, cards and e-wallets. Pix is the fastest and cheapest for Brazilians.

Summing up the choice: Exness wins on withdrawals and account versatility. IC Markets wins on institutional reputation and pure HFT. XM wins on accessibility for anyone starting out with little capital.

09Is Exness right for you?

It makes sense if…

  • You run or want to run an EA on MT5
  • You put fast withdrawals above everything else
  • You have the discipline to keep leverage under control
  • You want to test with little capital (Cent)
  • You scalp or run high-frequency strategies

Think twice if…

  • You are starting out and the leverage excites you
  • You depend on TradingView to send orders
  • You want protection from a local regulator (there is none)
  • You are not going to test on a demo account first
  • You are looking for FCA-style client compensation

10Frequently asked questions

Is Exness trustworthy?

By the standards of a foreign Forex broker, yes. It has real licenses (CySEC, FCA), 800,000+ active clients, automated withdrawals and negative balance protection. What it does not have — and no Forex broker has — is direct regulation by the CVM. That is an industry rule, not a specific failing.

Can I trade with Exness legally in Brazil?

Yes. Trading Forex through a foreign broker is legal for Brazilians. The rules that apply are those of Brazil's central bank and tax authority on international remittances and the taxation of gains. Exness is not banned — it is simply not regulated by the CVM, just like none of its competitors.

How long does a withdrawal take on Exness?

This is the strong point: most withdrawals are processed in seconds by the automated system, including on weekends. Pix lands practically instantly. An international transfer can take 1-3 business days on the bank's side, but the release from Exness is immediate.

Can I run a bot (EA) on Exness?

Yes. It supports MT4 and MT5 with Expert Advisors, scalping and automated strategies allowed. I recommend a VPS to keep the bot running 24/5 without depending on your own machine.

Which account is best to start with?

Demo first, always. Then the Cent account to test with real money and reduced exposure. Once you are comfortable, move to Standard or Raw Spread depending on your volume.

How do you declare Exness gains on a Brazilian tax return?

Gains at foreign brokers are treated as capital gains in foreign currency (a 15% rate), paid through a monthly DARF, Brazil's tax payment form. Brazil's central bank rules on remittances also apply. Talk to an accountant — it is worth getting this right from the start.

Ready to test it?

Free demo account. Use the Cent account when you move to real money. And always run your bot through a backtest first.
