High risk — problematic verification and no regulation in Brazil
Regulation MISA (Marshall Islands) CVM Not authorized Withdrawal KYC stalls often RA resolution 68,6% Min. deposit R$ 25 Headquarters Marshall Islands (offshore)

⚠ Important warning: Pocket Option is registered in the Marshall Islands, an offshore jurisdiction with minimal financial supervision. It is not authorized by Brazil's securities regulator (CVM). Reports indicate that the verification (KYC) process is frequently used to delay or prevent withdrawals.

What works

  • A variety of deposit and withdrawal methods (Pix, Brazil's instant payment system, crypto, card)
  • Low minimum deposit (from R$ 25)
  • Interface with social trading features (copy trading)
  • 68.6% resolution rate on Reclame Aqui — better than its competitors
  • Support replies in Portuguese on Reclame Aqui
  • Demo account available

What is worrying

  • Registered in the Marshall Islands — MISA regulation is not recognized
  • Repetitive verification (KYC) that stalls withdrawals for days or weeks
  • Copy trading that executes trades automatically with no clear warning
  • Reports of deposits "eaten up" by automatic trades
  • A selfie with ID + a paper reading "trade verify" demanded over and over
  • Withdrawal times of up to 14 business days in some cases
  • Not authorized by the CVM — no regulatory protection in Brazil
  • Pix is not always available for withdrawals

01Executive summary

Pocket Option is a binary options platform operated by Gembell Limited, registered in the Marshall Islands. Launched in 2017, it stands out for its variety of payment methods and for its copy trading feature — which lets you copy other traders' positions automatically.

In practice, it is that copy trading feature that generates some of the most serious problems users report: trades executed automatically on the account without the holder noticing, wiping out the deposited balance.

The other central problem is the verification (KYC) process, which works as a barrier to withdrawals. The platform demands repeated verification — including selfies holding an ID and a piece of paper with specific text — and rejects the photos for varied reasons, in a cycle that can drag on for weeks.

02Regulation: the Marshall Islands

Pocket Option is registered under MISA (the Marshall Islands International Securities Authority). That "regulation" has little practical substance: the Marshall Islands has no financial regulatory structure comparable to CySEC, the FCA or ASIC.

In Brazil, Pocket Option is not authorized by the CVM. Like the other binary options platforms, it operates irregularly under Brazilian law.

The platform itself promotes itself as a "regulated broker", but public complaints challenge that claim, pointing out that MISA offers no real investor protection.

03The endless verification cycle

This is Pocket Option's most characteristic problem. Unlike other platforms that block the account outright, Pocket Option uses the KYC process as a mechanism to delay withdrawals:

How the cycle works

The user deposits via Pix (it lands instantly). They trade and make a profit. They request a withdrawal. The platform asks for verification: a photo of an ID, a selfie holding the ID and a piece of paper reading "trade verify". The user sends it. The platform rejects it for varied reasons (dark photo, illegible text, cropped document). The user sends it again. Verification takes 3+ days to be reviewed. When it is finally approved, a new withdrawal is requested — and a new verification is demanded.

A typical report: "I've already taken about 5 photos and they don't accept them, each time they claim something different. The verification was accepted, I requested a withdrawal, and now it wasn't approved and I'm going to have to do the verification all over again. This process is a [frustration]." — Reclame Aqui user, July 2025.

04Copy trading: the feature that eats your balance

Pocket Option offers copy trading — you automatically copy other traders' positions. The problem: once it is switched on, it keeps trading even when the user is not on the platform. Many users do not realize copy trading was active and find out their balance has been eaten up by automatic trades.

A documented case: A user deposited R$ 1,500 and soon requested a withdrawal of R$ 1,477. Pocket Option said trades had been executed via copy trading during that period, consuming the balance. The user claimed they had not switched the feature on manually. The company replied that "the orders were executed according to the parameters chosen by the user" and refused a refund.

05Minimum deposit, methods and how to start (2026)

Pocket Option has one of the lowest costs of entry in the binary options market, which helps explain its popularity with beginners:

Minimum deposit
US$ 5
Minimum trade
US$ 1
Demo account
US$ 10,000 free

Deposit methods: Pix, Visa/Mastercard cards, cryptocurrencies (USDT, BTC and others) and e-wallets. The variety of methods is a genuine strength of the platform. Pix deposits usually land instantly — the friction, as the next sections show, is at the withdrawal, not at the deposit.

06The Pocket Option app

Pocket Option has a native app for Android and iOS, plus the web version. The app mirrors the web platform and concentrates the features that set the broker apart:

The app is functional and well rated for usability. Important: all the verification (KYC) and withdrawal problems described in this analysis apply equally in the app — how easy it is to deposit from your phone does not change the friction when it is time to take money out.

07Withdrawals: timelines, methods and why they take so long

Withdrawals are Pocket Option's critical point. The official flow is straightforward, but in practice it stalls at a few predictable points:

  1. Request through the same method as the deposit — in general the money comes back by the route used to deposit.
  2. KYC verification completed — ID, selfie and the paper reading "trade verify" approved (see section 03).
  3. Processing time: the company's own terms provide for up to 14 business days, although many withdrawals come through sooner.

Why withdrawals take so long in practice:

08Complaints: numbers and patterns

Resolution (Oct 25–Mar 26)
68,6%
Average response time
1 day

Pocket Option has the best resolution rate among the binary options platforms analyzed (68.6%), and replies in an average of 1 day. That is a positive. Even so, the complaints that are not resolved follow worrying patterns:

Withdrawal not processed: Withdrawals that sit in a processing queue for days, with a deadline that can reach 14 business days according to the company's own terms.

Pix unavailable for withdrawals: Some users report that Pix works for deposits but is not available for withdrawals, forcing them to use crypto wallets or other less convenient methods.

Conflicting information from the support bot: The platform's chatbot gives information that does not always match the reality of the user's account, creating confusion about which methods are available.

10Who it is for (and who it is not for)

You might consider it if:

  • You understand the risks of platforms with no serious regulation
  • You trade amounts you can afford to lose entirely
  • You complete the full verification before depositing
  • You switch copy trading off to avoid automatic trades

Avoid it if:

  • You have no patience for a repetitive KYC process
  • You want to withdraw quickly via Pix
  • You switch on copy trading without understanding that it trades on its own
  • You are looking for real regulatory protection for your capital

11Frequently asked questions

Why is verification rejected so many times?

Pocket Option demands photos in a specific format (selfie + ID + a paper reading "trade verify"). The platform claims this is for AML/KYC, but the number of repeated rejections in public reports suggests it may work as a mechanism to delay withdrawals.

Can copy trading trade without me knowing?

Yes. Once switched on, copy trading executes trades automatically according to the parameters configured, even when you are not on the platform. If you turned it on and forgot, you can lose your balance without noticing. The company does not consider that grounds for a refund.

Is Pocket Option regulated?

The company cites registration with MISA (Marshall Islands), but that body does not provide financial supervision comparable to recognized regulators. In Brazil, it is not authorized by the CVM.

Does Pix work for withdrawals?

Pix works for deposits, but it is not always available for withdrawals. Some users report being redirected to crypto or other methods when they try to withdraw via Pix.

What is Pocket Option's minimum deposit?

The minimum deposit is US$ 5 and the minimum trade is US$ 1. There is a free demo account with US$ 10,000 in virtual funds. Methods include Pix, cards, cryptocurrencies and e-wallets.

Is the Pocket Option app safe?

The app (Android and iOS) is functional and well rated for usability. However, the same risks of repeated KYC, automatic copy trading and slow withdrawals described in this analysis apply in the app too.

How long does a withdrawal take on Pocket Option?

The company's terms provide for up to 14 business days. Many withdrawals come through sooner, but the repeated verification cycle and Pix being unavailable for withdrawals can stretch that timeline.

Pocket Option or Binomo: which is better?

They are similar profiles, both without serious regulation. Pocket Option has a better resolution rate on Reclame Aqui (68.6% vs 56.9%), copy trading and more payment methods; Binomo is simpler. Both concentrate their complaints on withdrawals. For real protection, regulated brokers are the better choice.

Want to trade more safely?

Regulated brokers offer real copy trading with investor protection, reliable withdrawals and Portuguese-language support.
